Rowena Williams is a nerd. She complains
bitterly of Hollywood 's bastardization of
Batman comic continuity.
She is an out and proud Trekkie (in a
generation of same that doesn't demand
the
more strident ‘Trekker').
She will occasionally open her Concise Oxford
to look for a word that is on the edge of
realization by reading all of the words under
the Letter she supposes the mystery word
to be.
Rowena is a retro nerd.
She has a vast collection of LP and SP
records,
which are
cooler than CDs because,
when dusty, they can
be washed with soap
and water in the sink.
She enjoys Tetris, Commander Keen and
3D
Space Cadet Pinball. She downloads screen
captures (aka ‘screencaps') from episodes of
obscure Science Fiction series. She thinks
MIDI files are great.
Rowena is also an action nerd. She rock-climbs
without karabiners, cycles in traffic, and is
in training as an English teacher for senior
teenagers.
She has been drawing ever since she first had
enough co-ordination to copy her favourite
cartoon characters off the telly and is still
an active fangirl.
