Cape Town born James Durno is a Fine Artist, Corporate Visual
Communications Consultant & Cartoonist, working in multiple disciplines &
styles within the corporate, fine art, advertising, design & editorial fields.
He has lectured Fine Art & illustration at various institutions in the Eastern
Cape & Johannesburg. He is an award winning author & illustrator of
children’s books, & has also Art Directed for Cambridge University Press.
James has had more than thirty Fine Art Exhibitions, both group & solo,
in the last nineteen years. His works hang in numerous private & corporate
collections in South Africa, Holland, Germany, UK & USA. Corporate
collections include: Bidvest, WesBank, BATSA, SA Breweries, Deloitte &
Touche, UCB & ABSA.
James has combined his Fine Art with more than eighteen years experience
as a Commercial Artist & Cartoonist, to develop a rich variety of Visual
Languages. He provides simple, tailor made, picture based communications
packages for companies, live Visual & Graphic facilitation, Big Picture &
Future Backwards mapping as well as detailed in studio Strategy Mapping &
Corporate Fine Art that capture values, processes & abstracts in Visual
Metaphor.
He has done work for most of the big agencies. Corporate clients include:

James is 41 years old, and is married with two children.
